Bathrooms, Kitchen & Carpet

The inside of the house is nearing completion with the tiles, sinks, shower, toilets all being installed this last two weeks. Brian camped out at the house to complete the master bathroom. Here's how it was still looking not too many days ago:

Molly was asking about the bath tub...

The tiled floor is travertine stone while the shower and bath tub cladding is a porcelain tile.

Here's how it was looking when Brian took a break. We are very pleased how the colours and textures are coming together:

In case you were wondering, here it is...

With the tile work done and the bath tub and fixtures back in place, it was time to add the glass for the shower.

The master bathroom is looking great, so Brian moved on to completing the second bathroom starting with the floor tiles.

With the floor tiles done, it was time to add the sink and fixtures and fittings:

The decorative mosaic tile around the sink came out very nicely and the addition of the mirror is trans-formative:

The laundry room porcelain tiles are the same as in the second bathroom, but the while cabinets create a different feel.

The sink, faucet, and back splash are now installed:

All that's missing is the washer and dryer...

And now we are ready for all that muddy cycling kit!

The addition of the carpet on the stairs, landing and bedrooms has created a softer, warmer interior. The colours and textures are all blending beautifully and, although it's hard to tell from the photos, the feel of the carpet between my toes is wonderful!

Meanwhile downstairs the cleaners have moved in making everything sparkle including the red oak floor:

The kitchen has gone through a metamorphosis with the tiles finished, fixtures and furnishings installed, and LED under-cabinet lighting providing a dramatic effect.

All we need now is the fridge...

Why are American fridges so BIG?

That pretty much wraps it up for the inside. Oh, but what about the lights for the nook?

We'll do the big un-wrap next time...
